Children and Divorce

I've started writing a report that I'm going to give away once it's completed (it will be a free report). This report will address a variety of issues concerning children and divorce.

It will cover such things as the following:

  • How to talk with your children about your divorce
  • How to maintain a strong relationship with your children during and after a divorce
  • How to create and maintain a parental relationship with your ex-spouse
  • Tips on dealing with custody scheduling conflicts
  • Tips on dealing with child support issues
  • How to introduce your children to the idea of your dating, and eventually to your new partner
  • Other related topics
If you have any other areas you'd like to see addressed in this report or even in other posts on this blog, leave your thoughts in the comments below, and I'll add them to the report if I can.

I would like to see some advice on dealing with issues when both me and my STBX go to events with our children. Should we sit together? (yuck!) If we sit apart, where do the kids sit - with me during my "week" and with him during his time? Should we let the kids decide?

I haven't talked with him about this yet, but I know it's a big deal for our boys - especially our 9S.
